Create a gift for yourself, a friend or maybe for your house with paper mache.
Paper mache is literally mashed paper consisting of old paper pieces that is then bound with adhesive, such as glue.
This technique is said to have first been invented in China, the inventors of paper itself. Examples of old helmets made of paper mache in China can be found dated back to BC 202 – AD 220.
Since then, beautiful hand crafted artisans of this type can now be found all over the world but more commonly in Kashmir, Mexico and other Eastern countries.
It's a simple method that can be applied in thousands of ways to create beautiful gifts such as ; gift boxes, jewellery, interior decorations, photo frames, sculptors, bowls and much more.
You will be guided step by step and will explore the endless possibilities and fun you can have with creating out of this composite material.
As paper mache takes time to dry myself and my co-host Hazel Croney will prepare a selection of shapes and props so that you can mix and match to make your own unique gifts. If you have anything in mind you wish to make than you are also welcome to prepare your own before the day. There will be plenty of material to work with so you can be confident you'll not get stuck for ideas.
To start the morning we will have a gentle hour of Yoga to help open our heart, mind and body in preparation for creative fun.
Lunch is included in the price and will be served at the Kingdom Cafe upstairs.
Investment fee £75
